Tourist Day

Coffee, toast, weather check... it's nice right now but rain is expected around 11ish... at least that's what my resident weather man says.

Kelly was out in the yard grabbing a few pictures...

Beach views

We walked the beach to the North and enjoyed the warm 24° weather. A few local dogs came joined us along the shoreline and they clearly knew their way around. Emile went in for a dip as we watched him disappear under the rollers!

I dropped the seats in the Caravan and we loaded up the E-bikes to take into Kapa'a for some biking. The van's were loaded and off we went into town. We went through the main core and then hit HWY 580 up to Opeaka'a Falls and the views of the Wailua River.

We headed back to town and dropped Heather and Simone off at Keaka Street so they could bike the shoreline. Pete & Deb decided to walk the foreshore as well. We then drove into Kapa'a and quickly found a place to enjoy a cool drink. Kelly was off to the fabric store while we discussed current events over a nice cool beverage! It was Big Wave Dave's of course!

Deb spotted this very interesting saying...

Kelly spotted this one on the wall......

It was time for lunch so we met up with the bike gang at one of several food truck lots close by. I did manged to grab the last shrimp dish and boy was it good!

Simone and Emile rode the E-bikes back to the house while Deb & Heather headed for the farmers market that opened at 3 pm. Kelly drew the short straw and drove Hugh, Pete and myself back to the house in Anahola.

A crib game broke out and it was a skunk by Kelly... Hugh took it in stride! I then lost to Kelly by a couple of points so it looks like she is the daily champion at this point… we will see.

Emile & Simone arrived on their E-bikes and then it was time for Emile, Pete and I to head to the beach for a swim. It was big surf so we swam out to where it was easy to ride the tops of the waves as they came in. Lots of fun as there were some huge ones that crashed the beach!

All showered up and it is now time to relax with a beverage. Deb & Heather returned from the farm market with various goodies.  Hugh prepped and then made a delicious Paella for dinner with Heather making another great salad.

Dinner prep time.

Some planning for tomorrow.... we added a few items to the never ending "list" for tomorrows dinner. We also need to replenish the wine rack as the supply has dwindled to a dangerously low level... or so I am told.

We listened to some music that Emile had on his phone, trying to guess the various artists.

We never did see any rain today...... off to bed... exhausted.
